    WingCast is built for wingfoilers, by a wingfoiler. We collect only what we need to run the app and will never sell your data.
  

Who We Are

WingCast is operated as a personal project by Matthew Silver, based in Eastbourne, UK. Contact us at mattsilver8377@gmail.com.

What Data We Collect

When you create an account we collect:

Email address — used for account management, password resets and (if you subscribe) billing communications
Display name — optional, shown on condition reports if you choose to post publicly
Subscription status — whether you're on a free or Pro plan

When you use the app we store:

Session logs — date, location, wind, gear, rating and notes you enter
GPS tracks — only if you choose to upload a .gpx file to a session
Check-ins and condition reports — spot, timestamp, star rating and optional comment
Saved spots — your custom locations and home spot preference
FCM token — a device identifier used only to send wind alert notifications you've enabled

We do not collect location data in the background, track browsing, use advertising networks, or share data with third parties for marketing.

How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the WingCast service
To manage your account and subscription
To send wind alerts you have explicitly enabled
To display condition reports and check-ins to other users (only if you post them)
To respond to support requests

Who We Share Data With

We use the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google) — authentication, database and push notifications. Firebase Privacy Policy
Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We never see or store your card details. Stripe Privacy Policy
Open-Meteo — weather forecast data. No personal data is shared.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to any third party.

Your Rights (GDPR)

As a UK/EU resident you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of your personal data
Rectification — correct inaccurate data
Erasure — delete your account and all associated data (use the Delete Account option in Profile, or email us)
Portability — export your session data as CSV (Sessions tab → Export)
Object — object to processing for direct marketing (we don't do this)

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data (e.g. number of check-ins at a spot) may be retained.

Cookies

WingCast is a Progressive Web App and does not use advertising cookies. Firebase uses cookies for authentication session management only.

Children

WingCast is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We'll notify users of material changes via the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
